Odd Level Weapons

There are multiple reasons why a weapon might have an "odd" level. An odd level is any level that does not match or fall within the range defined in the item schema for that weapon.

- In early 2009, an item could have a level between 0 and 100.

- In mid-2009, weapon levels were standardized (most are level 1, 5, or 10 now, and hat levels could be 1-100).

- Since then, some weapons have been released that get a random level from 1-100 (e.g. Rescue Ranger).

- The release of MvM saw the introduction of Botkiller weapons, that get a level number equal to the tour you just completed (e.g. Level 5 if you just completed your 5th tour). Botkiller levels go from 1-200.

- Another feature of the MvM update was the ability to earn additional drops by using Mann-Up Tickets. There was a 'glitch' that caused any item earned at the end of a tour to get a level assignment equal to the tour number. This has since been patched.

- Steam Support have been known to grant items with random levels.

This Winger is Level 1, but is normally seen at level 15, as defined in the item schema.
